🆘 🆘 🆘
I can confirm the contractor has pulled “everything” from Solis Campground off River Road. Solis is where they spent two weeks ripping a new road across low mountains headed towards Mariscal Mountain.
This 3 + mile long road was a surveillance road with a steel vehicle barrier. Anyone who has ever stood in this location can clearly see no vehicle is ever crossing the river at the point due to the terrain - and most of the vehicle barrier planned was on the side of hills you can barely walk up.
I can only imagine what Commissioner Scott thought when he either saw it for himself (from the air) or heard our local sheriffs and local CBP about this idiocy.
I spoke to two of the contractors who said they weren’t coming back to Solis. We will see. If they thought they were going to be allowed to continue, they wouldn’t move the equipment, the Flock cameras, water tankers, the orange barriers - they even hauled off the sh*t’r.
Congrats to everyone who has been emailing, calling, and mailing in postcards to our state and federal officials. Thx to the thousands who stood on corners, at state buildings, on overpasses, etc — thx to those who filed suit. Thx to our politicians and law enforcement for speaking up. Thx to the Signal group (you know who you are).
The winds are shifting. The war is far from over, but we put some points on the board this week. Keep your sleeves rolled up; the sun comes up again tomorrow.
Peace out.
