Got a plan B?
Grand Teton is experiencing high numbers of visitation this year, especially at our popular beaches like String Lake and Jenny Lake. The park is making sure to keep our staff, visitors, and resources during this time, so here are some things to expect when visiting Grand Teton this summer.
Be prepared for parking lots to fill up early. Jenny Lake, String Lake, & Colter Bay are the most popular destinations at the park. We will not allow overflow parking at String Lake this year.
Expect wait times at park entrances, visitors centers, high visitation areas, gift shops, etc.
Wear a mask or face covering when in buildings and high visitation areas.
Dispose trash properly. Follow Leave No Trace principles by packing out what you bring in, including all trash, masks, and left-over food.
Properly store your food from bears and other wildlife. Help save a bear's life by storing food, snacks, water bottles, beer, sunscreen, lotions, and bugspray in bear lockers around the lakeshores.
Keep your distance from other groups on the lakeshores and follow local, state, and CDC guidelines to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. Park visitors are encouraged to arrive early or late in the day to avoid crowds. If an area is crowded, please consider an alternate area or activity.
Explore other areas of the park that are less populated, and discover all of the beautiful places Grand Teton has to offer!
