🚫 BURN BAN IN EFFECT FOR SOUTH GEORGIA 🔥

The Georgia Forestry Commission has issued a temporary burn ban for 91 counties, including McDuffie County, due to worsening drought conditions and increased wildfire risk.

‼️ Effective immediately
🗓 Duration: 30 days (through May 22, 2026, unless extended)

What this means:
-No outdoor burning of any kind
-No yard debris or leaf pile burning
-No agricultural or prescribed burns
-No burn permits will be issued during this time

Nearly all of Georgia is currently experiencing moderate to exceptional drought conditions, and even a small spark can quickly lead to a dangerous wildfire.

⚠️ We urge all residents to take this seriously and do their part to help prevent wildfires.

The Inaugural Raysville Campground Chili Cookoff is in the books! A good time was had by all.

Congratulations to 1st Place winner “Horton’s Heat”, Runner up “Slick Willie’s Chili”, and People’s Choice “Just Chili” on their award winning day.

A huge thanks to our judges Ruthie, Jerry, and Barbara for their challenging role as judges. The results were so close! Most of all, thanks to the participants, campers, and those who showed up to support the campground and taste the chili!

3. Slice the peel of the banana from stem to bottom, while slicing the banana inside lengthwise. The bananas can be cut into slices instead if you like, (while still in the peel) for easier handling later.
