It’s amazing views but no you can not go there by sxs … unless street legal - please help spread the word!

❌ 🛑 YOU CANNOT TAKE YOUR UTV ON THE LAKE OF THE CLOUDS SAMPLE RIDE AS SHOWN ON POLARIS APP‼️

Polaris Off Road Polaris Ride Command app has apparently resurfaced an old "sample - lake of the clouds ride" into their map system again. We have encountered several people attempting to take this route only to find closed gates, tall grass, impassable swamps, and worse, trespass offenses.

This is a sample SNOWMOBILE ride that is showing back up in the app, even when ORV is toggled. In the picture below you can even see it populated when I updated a customer's ORV map system in their 7S display. Crazy! We are working with MI-TRALE to try and help resolve this issue with Polaris, but please share to those who are thinking about riding up here! There are TONS OF TRAILS to ride, just not this route!

Now...if you are street legal, yes you can go there. Just know you will have to pay for a park pass as your DNR trail stickers are no longer valid. No, we will not turn this post into a discussion about street legal/ORV trail access. Stay focused, kids. We are trying to prevent trail closures from trespass issues!

HAPPY 906 DAY!!!! Did you know - 906 is one of the largest area codes by land, yet it is one of the smallest area codes in terms of population. Lake Superior surrounds most of the UP and is the world’s largest body of fresh water. The UP is about 29 percent of Michigan’s land mass, yet it only holds 3 percent of the state’s population. This is a very important meeting for the club as it is the one where trustees and officers are elected, and our season is planned out- beginning with our brushing & signing weekend the 3rd weekend of September. So much history here in Da Yoop!!! When was your first time crossing the Portage Lake Lift Bridge!?! Was it by car, truck, sled (on the lower deck), sxs…under with a boat?!?!? Have you ever walked across it?

Upper Peninsula travelers remember when the Portage Lake Lift Bridge opened between Houghton and Hancock on December 20, 1959, replacing the old swing bridge for good.

Do you remember crossing the Portage Lake Lift Bridge for the first time, or hearing your grandparents talk about the old swing bridge it replaced?
