For the Reynolds family, life within these walls was filled with the routines, traditions, and social expectations of a prominent Toledo household in the early 1900s.

One of my favorite parts of being the innkeeper at The King’s Throne Inn is uncovering the history hidden in plain sight.

From original architectural details to century-old drawings and documents, every discovery helps us better understand the people, craftsmanship, and history behind these walls.

And the more I uncover, the more fascinating this house becomes.

After more than 130 years, we're still discovering its story. 👑

Running a small, independent inn isn't just about welcoming guests, making coffee, and keeping a beautiful historic home ready for visitors.

Sometimes it's sitting down with a little help from AI, digging into booking platforms, reviewing what's working (and what isn't), and making sure we're putting our best foot forward.

❤️ This Sunday’s Innkeeper’s Corner looks a little different.

A while back, we shared a cause close to our hearts: supporting families who have experienced infant loss. Since then, we've continued that support through a donation link on The King’s Throne Inn's homepage.

Tonight, I'm stepping beyond the doors of the Inn to join PWR Movement and Ostrich Town for a candlelight vigil honoring little lives gone far too soon. 🕯️

Because hospitality isn't just about welcoming people into your home. It's about showing up for your community, standing beside one another, and reminding people they aren't alone.

As many of you know, The King's Throne Inn & Guest House is currently navigating the challenges of the City of Toledo's unannounced reclassification of our property from residential to commercial.

This unexpected change has brought new financial pressures, including increased property taxes, as we work to preserve and continue operating our historic 1892 home in Toledo's Old West End.

While we navigate this transition, we're finding creative ways to support the inn and keep doing what we love: welcoming guests, sharing Toledo's history, and caring for a home that has stood for more than 130 years.

That's why we're introducing something special.

☕ King's Blend: Protecting Neighborhood History

Our signature Costa Rican coffee is now available as a special thank-you for supporting the inn during this challenging time.

👑 $25 Contribution — Receive a 4 oz bag of King's Blend.

Your support helps us manage the added financial pressures of the reclassification while continuing to maintain this historic property and provide the welcoming experience our guests have come to know.
