We continue to have issues with the phone. The phone company is aware and is working on resolving it. We have tons of camp sites available, from tent to full hookups, so come on in and we will take care of you when you get here. Now we know why the power went out! Thanks to all our campers who were understanding and cooperative with this unexpected event!

Power restored for thousands. Sunday night, around 3,100 Appalachian Power customers were found without power.
The outage was caused when an unidentified person cut down a tree that pulled down three spans of AP lines and two power poles, according to a press release.

The person responsible did not report the accident and was not present when an AP line servicer located the damage.
AP restored power to some of those effected by the outage by switching them to alternate circuits, but many did not see their power restored until Monday afternoon, since the damaged lines were in an area that was difficult to access by truck, according to Teresa Hall, with corporate communications at AP.

Plan on camping this Labor Day weekend and couldn't get a reservation? Don't give up! We have 24 first come first serve sites waiting for you. The sites are not able to be held, reserved or saved, so please don't ask. They are for those who will take the fairly safe risk and show up with cash or check as we don't take credit cards at the campground. We hope to see you this weekend and fill these lonely sites!
