Settle in on our spacious porch as the evening cools, the fire pits glow, and the mountain air gives movie night a little extra magic. Enjoy a relaxed outdoor cinema experience beneath the pines, complete with popcorn, cozy seating, and a beautiful Summerhaven setting.

Whether you’re staying at the Lodge or coming up for the evening, this is a wonderful way to end the day on Mount Lemmon.

Join us every Saturday (through the summer) from 12:00–2:00 PM for Paint & Sip at Mount Lemmon Lodge, where creativity feels a little more inspired beneath the pines.

This relaxed two-hour experience is led by a seasoned instructor and features a fresh image each week to guide your acrylic painting. No experience is needed, just come ready to unwind, have fun, and enjoy a mountain afternoon surrounded by fresh air, forest views, and good company.

All supplies are provided, along with plenty of inspiration. Space is limited, and reservations are recommended, price is $65/pp.

Long before Mt. Lemmon became a quick escape from the city of Tucson, it was a place people returned to year after year, generation after generation.

Families gathered beneath the pines. Children posed with ponies and wandered through the woods. Friends dressed for an evening of dancing, conversation, and mountain air. Travelers found their way to rustic lodges with stone fireplaces, wood-paneled rooms, porch railings, and signs promising good food and a cool retreat from summer’s heat.

These old photographs tell a story that feels both distant and familiar.
They remind us that Mount Lemmon has always been more than a destination. It has been a gathering place. A place for family outings, quiet weekends, celebrations, summer escapes, and simple moments that become part of someone’s history.

The buildings have changed. The cars have changed. The clothes have certainly changed.

But the feeling remains.

The tall pines still frame the mountain light. The air still feels a little lighter up here. And the simple pleasure of slowing down, sharing a meal, listening to music, walking beneath the trees, or sitting together after a long day still feels every bit as meaningful as it did then.

Mount Lemmon has always invited people to look up, breathe deeper, and stay awhile.

A new guided astronomy experience is coming to Mount Lemmon Lodge.

The next two weekends, overnight Lodge guests will have the rare opportunity to explore Mount Lemmon’s dark mountain skies with astronomer and night-sky guide Zane Landers during this special astronomy event at Mount Lemmon Lodge.

The evening begins indoors with an engaging astronomy presentation, then moves outside to the Lodge garden for guided telescope viewing beneath the dark skies of Mt. Lemmon.

Guests will explore seasonal highlights including star clusters, double stars, nebulae, and the rising summer Milky Way, with live narration bringing the night sky into clearer focus.

Upcoming Dates:
Saturday, May 30
Saturday, June 6

Evening Format:
7:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Indoor astronomy presentation
Approx. 8:15 PM – 10:00 PM: Outdoor guided telescope viewing.

This intimate experience is limited to 20 overnight Lodge guests, ages 7 and up. $45 per person. Weather permitting.

BIG NEWS from Summerhaven: the new parking lot is officially open, just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

Completed about a month ahead of schedule, the lot adds much-needed parking for visitors heading up the mountain to hike, explore, dine, attend events, or simply enjoy the cooler air among the pines.

The restroom facilities are not open quite yet, but we’re told they should be available in the coming weeks. For now, the added parking is already a welcome improvement for guests, day-trippers, and anyone spending time in the heart of Summerhaven.

Located on N. Sabino Canyon Park, in between the Lodge and Marshal Gulch picnic area.
