A couple weeks ago, we had the honor of welcoming Bob Berghell, grandson of Cyrus Avery, to The Avery Kitchen & Bar during Tulsa’s Capital Cruise celebration.
Known as the “Father of Route 66,” Cyrus Avery helped establish the route of the Mother Road and founded the U.S. Highway 66 Association. Nearly a century later, his legacy continues to bring people together and remains woven into the story of Tulsa.
It was a privilege to host Bob and his family in the restaurant that proudly carries the Avery name and to be a small part of celebrating such an important piece of Tulsa history.
