End of day road work photo! After about 20 dump trucks full of dirt and a few trucks full of crusher run, we finished filling and leveling up the main entrance road today. Yay!

I want to add some height in the road across the culverts so what looks like a speed bump tonight will be smoothed out tomorrow to create a small crest or high point on the road so that rain water (or flood waters) will flow around the sides of each culvert and not wash away the road that holds them in. At least that is the plan.

I have one small pile of fill dirt left for final touch ups after the crest is done. And then, Vic’s Sticks will again have a main entrance road, albeit be it dirt, till we get the aggregate spread.

Once the road is done we will get back to finishing the head and end walls and the clean-up and landscaping around Vic’s Way! Looking forward to putting up that Vic’s Way street sign too!

Main entrance road work continues at Vic’s Sticks! Along with a fantastic crew from Tri-State electrical that came out to fix a pole
that was accidentally pulled down when one of the dump trunks got caught up in some overhead wires. Everyone was fine, we never lost power and the crew was so impressive, they fixed it so fast! Plus one of the crew spotted the other half of the main gate I built in the woods that the flood waters took downstream! I hope to retrieve it tomorrow! 🤠

The entrance road repair is coming along! I was hoping for more today, but at least we got three more loads of fill dirt! More coming tomorrow! We are working hard to restore it back to what it looked like before the flash flood and the extra overflow culvert will provide additional

More good progress on the road repairs today. Last of the three 1800 lb. blocks stacked for the cap walls are now in place. We saved a whole lotta rip rap before we dug out the last head wall seat! We spread all the remaining materials we had delivered and are now just waiting for a whole bunch more dirt and rocks to fill and rebuild the road!

More progress on the overflow culvert and road repairs today! We have finished the crusher run cradles for each of the culverts. Both are now firmly seated and mostly buried. Before we lay more material though, we need to place the headwalls. Then we will back fill behind them before grading for the road.
