A special thank you to the heroes over the water issue we had at camp this weekend.
As the monsoon rolled in and the well suddenly decided to quit pumping water to well over 100 horses and guests, Monte and David stepped right into the storm without hesitation. Rain pouring, mud everywhere, and dark clouds rolling in… but they stayed with it, trying to assess the situation.
Thank you to Jamie, our well guy who spent time walking us through troubleshooting over the phone until we reached the point where there was simply nothing more that could be done until daylight.
A huge thank you to Chuck Schulte and the Tuscumbia Rural Fire Protection District for stepping up and providing us a tanker truck of water to make sure horses and campers were taken care of for the night — and again at first light the next morning.
And speaking of first light… thank you to Jamie with Reid Pump & Well Drilling for showing up at camp first thing on a Sunday morning, on a holiday weekend no less, to get the well back up and running.
If you ever find yourself needing well work done, give Jamie a call. He has always taken good care of us.
And to our guests… thank you for your patience, understanding, and teamwork through it all. Folks collected rain water, walked their ponies to the pond between rain breaks, and gave us the time we needed to get things handled. That kind of understanding means more than you know.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again… some heroes don’t wear capes.
Rain coats, mud boots, cowboy boots, work boots, cowboy hats, and ball caps… absolutely. ðŸ¤
