We are all hanging on to the last days of summer. Labor Day weekend was last week and that supposedly signifies the end of summer. School buses are rolling again and the sun is setting earlier, but we all refuse to let go. But now is the time to get your winter plans ironed out. Get your new ski bindings, poles, goggles, or gloves. Snow shoes wearing out? And, what about your snowmobile? Have you had the battery tender hooked up keeping the battery charged? Oh my gosh, were are you going to stay for your winter fun?
Along the River Campground has only 3 winter seasonal RV sites left! $1275 for a site from November 20, 2026 thru March 13, 2027 plus metered electric. Sites are dry, sewer hook up works, bathhouse is heated with free showers. If you are not into camping, we have 4 cabins all with heat, kitchens, and full bathrooms. The cabins are for short term reservations. They fill fast for the peak weekends and can be booked right on our website alongtherivernh.com or by calling 603-846-1026. Come stay at a our campground. We are just down route 302 from Mt. Washington. The summit is vissable from our campground with the naked eye, so our guests can view this spectacular memorial without stressing over traffic. We still have some cabins available, with more options on tent and RV sites.

You will want to bear witness to the Honor Summit NH 9/11 Memorial taking place September 9 to September 11 at the Summit of Mount Washington. These twin beams of light will be viewable from up to 130 miles with Twin Mountain and Bretton Woods being in the prime line of sight. Make plans to join us for this special tribute to our 9/11 heroes.

We are very thankful for another GREAT summer here at Along the River Campground. Some Appalachian Trail through hikers found us for their base camp which we are ideally located close to what is said to be the most difficult part of the AT. With a quite rest spot and clean bath house and hot showers on a river, we are a great place to choose. One hiker and her trail angle husband came for a week and stayed with us almost all of August! Now, that says something.
Looking forward, there is still a lot of camping season to enjoy. Even if you do not hike, we are just north of all the tourist traffic and not far from all the amazing sights and things to do. We still have availability for the remaining weekends. Our popular cabins are pretty booked up already. Mid week has the most options for cabins, tents and RV sites. Get them now before the leaf peeper folks start calling!!! And, let me tell you, when they come, they bring friends, so 1 inquiry can book a few sights. The last few Falls we had to turn away many folks because we were not able to accommodate your requests. Book soon!

Avoid the traffic in North Conway and stay with us in the White Mountains! You can take an amazing scenic train ride from Crawford Notch Station to North Conway and return just like in the old days.

CONWAY SCENIC RAILROAD - You can now take the train from Crawford Notch down to North Conway and back on the Conway Scenic Railroad's Mountaineer Express.

Stay in Twin Mountain and Bretton Woods to avoid the crowds and enjoy spectacular foliage views from the train.

It is time for a very friendly reminder to all our campers.
First, this is not a reflection on our recent camping guests, you folks have been stellar this season. Thank you for keeping your sites clean and putting your food away.
A hand full of years ago we had a very persistent visiting bear who loved Provolone Cheese, Chocolate Milk and several more delicacies. If you were here, you remember how often the bear visited us. We had Fish & Game even try to capture and relocate the bear. Yogie was pretty smart. The trap was set, and he never came back. Thankfully.
I was just recently shown a videa of a 3 legged momma bear with twin cubs within a mile of our campground! This 3 legged momma bear lives in our area and has been spotted several times in the areas of routes 3 and 302 over the past few years. A mile is a quick walk for a bear, and she's teaching her young how to find food. So, PLEASE, PLEASE, do not leave anything out for the wildlife to sniff out.
As this photo shows, a "cute" squirrel found a bag of peanut M&M's on site T6 a few years ago. I bet this was the fastest squirrel for a few hours....LOL. A bear's nose can smell food a mile away. Please be smart and enjoy the outdoors responsibility.

Happy Friday everyone! It's gonna be a super weekend to get out and hike the whites, or splash around in the river. We are slowly getting the replacement for cabin 5 finished. The past few days the metal roof went on and boy it looks good. Some of our guests said they can see the log cabin from Sugar Loaf. If you're up there, send us a photo.

We present you with our 2nd log style park modle trailer/cabin. This one has 2 separate bedrooms! The primary bedroom has a queen and the 2nd bedroom has 1 set of twin size bunks. This unit is called cabin 8 and is available for you to set up your basecamp while vacationing in the White Mountains. Happy Memorial Day Weekend! No AI photos here. It just a top 10 day, cool crisp fresh air, and a touch of frost this morning which means last night was a GREAT nights sleep under the stars. The pool is open and the water is an amazing 65 degrees! Best its ever been this early in the season. Come see our improvements, stay a while and live a lifetime. We have tent and rv site available. Also a few cabins. It's gonna be a wonderful weekend. Please travel safe and let the "fast" drivers go. Your goal is to get to your destination. Hopefully it is to see us....
