Can you believe that we are only 5 days away from the 2026 HVFD Carnival?? We are hard at work preparing to hopefully make this the best one yet! See the list of events in the attached flyer! 3 new bands this year!

We start with our HVFD Carnival Breakfast on Sunday 5/31. All you can eat from 7:30-11:30, or until sold out!

Thursday nights band is “Vintage Time Machine” which is made up of 2 local volunteer firefighters! Come see them take the stage for the first timer ever at the HVFD from 6:30-9:30 on 6/4!

Dont forget about our 3 parades! All are welcome to participate! Here are the details:

Monday 6/1: Pet Parade. Forms at 6:00 at Hughesville High School and moves at 7:00pm. Awards given in multiple different categories! We want to see all of your fur babies!

Wednesday 6/3: Mike Fiester Memorial Car Parde. Forms at Lycoming County Fairgrounds at 6:00. Enter via the gate at S. 2nd and E. Lycoming Streets. Parade moves at 7:00. Rain date Thursday 6/4. Sponsored by Picture Rocks Lions Club

Saturday 6/6: Fireman’s Parade. Forms at Hughesville High School at 4:00, moves at 5:00. All are welcome to participate! Sponsored by White Horse Graphics!

Food stands open tentatively at 5:30 every night and we have all your favorites, including Sunset Ice Cream hand dipped by the HVFD!

Rides/games provided by our friends at SunShine Shows, LLC! Wrist Band Ride Nights Tuesday and Thursday! Price is TBA.

Some minor updates to our 2026 Carnival Line up! Hard to believe we are just 3 weeks away! Are you ready?? Don’t forget about our 3 parades! We welcome all businesses, groups, organizations and individuals to participate! This is a great way to show what you have while also helping us put on a great show for the community!

Monday June 1st: Pet Parade! Bring all your fur babies out and show them off! We’d love to see them all!! Parade forms at 6:00 at Hughesville High School and moves at 7:00! Multiple awards given!

*NOTE: Hughesville High School marching band was invited to participate, but declined so unfortunately we will not have a band in any of the parades*

This Sunday, May 24, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) will host a Fish for Free day to allow anyone (resident or non-resident) to legally fish on all Pennsylvania waterways. No license is required, but all other fishing regulations still apply.

This is the first of two dates set by the PFBC to enhance fishing opportunities. The next day is Independence Day, Saturday, July 4. This is a great way to expose the next generation of anglers to the outdoors. More information about fishing in Pennsylvania is available here @ www.fishandboat.com.

https://www.facebook.com/lycomingcofair WINTER CAMPER STORAGE AT THE FAIRGROUNDS. Runs from late October till end of March. $12 a foot. Example 30 foot camper would be $360 for the winter storage. They are also under roof and most are in enclosed buildings.
