As I watched, the sense of an elderly man grew behind my left shoulder. I turned. He was sitting on a bench, his face a wrinkled smile, and he said, "She’s my special one. She’s going away soon." I paused, an icicle of worry freezing me. Oh, no! Is she going to die? I don’t know if I can deliver that message to someone I don’t know! I forced my mind to quiet and continued to observe, trying to get the old man to say more. The child laughed and splashed in the water. He simply repeated his statement, lovingly, and with deep regret. I still had no idea what this meant, but it was so real. I wanted to know more.

After just a very short time, the auditorium was called back to full consciousness, and we were asked to report to our partners what we had experienced. I turned to her and described what I had seen.
