We’re cheering loudly for our CEO Jennifer O'Neal today! 🎉

Lead Like a Woman: FEARLESS, compiled by Andrea Heuston, launched today, and Jennifer is one of its co-authors.

Her chapter, “Seven Minutes of Fear,” tells the story of the time she accidentally signed up to perform stand-up comedy in front of 150 fellow entrepreneurs. As an AV professional, Jennifer spends a lot of time helping clients feel confident on stage. This time, she was the one behind the mic.

From there, she shares what that experience taught her about leading Live Oak AV into its next chapter of growth: trusting your training, leaning on your team, and remembering that courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s the willingness to step through it.

We’ve had a front-row seat to “Jennifer unleashed,” and we couldn’t be prouder. Congratulations, Jennifer!

A lot can change between the planning call and showtime. That’s just part of events.

For KidVantage’s Helping Kids Thrive luncheon, we started with a focused 30-minute planning conversation to make sure everyone was on the same page. Then event morning brought a tight setup schedule, program changes, and a few unexpected details to work through.

None of that needed to become KidVantage’s problem.

Our team adjusted as things changed, answered questions, and kept the AV moving so their team could stay focused on their speakers, supporters, and the reason everyone was there in the first place.

After the event, Kim Christensen from KidVantage told us the Live Oak team was “so kind, responsive, and made us feel like a priority.”

That’s exactly how we want our clients to feel.

Public speaking can be nerve-racking. Especially when you don’t do it every day.

At KidVantage's Helping Kids Thrive luncheon, several of the people taking the stage were social workers, teachers, counselors, and program staff. They had great stories to tell, but speaking in front of a room full of people was outside their usual day-to-day.

Before the event, we shared our Feminist Guide to Presenting with the KidVantage team.

It covers some of the things we wish every presenter got to know before stepping onstage to help make presenting feel a little less intimidating.

KidVantage ended up using the guide during their speaker coaching sessions, which we loved hearing.

Kim Christensen later told us, “The room was silent—everyone was watching. If people can’t hear or see, the story isn’t heard. Live Oak AV made sure every voice was clear, and every story was seen.”

AV shouldn’t make presenting harder. It should help people feel supported enough to tell their story.

USB-C, HDMI, Lightning…. the list of cables and AV tools is endless!

One of our favorite things about working with nonprofits is getting to help important stories reach the room. For KidVantage's Helping Kids Thrive luncheon, that meant supporting a program full of videos and personal stories from social workers, teachers, counselors, and others who see KidVantage’s impact firsthand.

They’re people doing important work and have meaningful thoughts to share, not professional speakers.

Our role was pretty simple: make sure people could see them, hear them, and stay focused on what they were saying.

Kim Christensen from KidVantage told us:

That means a lot to us.

Employee parties should feel like a party.

For the Davey Awards at 4105, we partnered with D Squared Hospitality to help transform the space with large-scale projections that added energy, movement, and a little extra wow to the evening.

One of the things we love about 4105 is how well the projection walls lend themselves to creative event design. Whether you’re using them for branding, motion graphics, themed visuals, or something completely unexpected, they can change the feel of the room without adding a lot of extra elements to the space.

And when the event is all about celebrating your team? That’s a pretty great excuse to have some fun with it.
