A couple at the point of getting married knows that they’re going to have to work extra hard to have a healthy relationship. Goals and expectations solidify, making every decision in consideration of the other. They also learn, sometimes more quickly or more often than they’d like, that physical location does not equal home.

They learn to find it in each other.

Gabby and Kyle know these lessons more than most, and they learned them very early on in their relationship. As members of the Air Force who met on base, they knew the reality of what it was going to take to sustain a real, meaningful relationship.

And last weekend they got to show 👏 their 👏 work 👏!

Tears flowing, laughter and moments of silence, and an abundance of love embracing the entire day was the vibe, and I couldn’t have felt more privileged to have had a front row seat.

We were so honored to help Becky + Derrick’s vision come to life! Thoughtful touches throughout - her cousin’s dried florals from her wedding found a new use, loads of games, and a variety of favors to choose from showed their guests that simple can certainly be classy.

When the tears are flowing at the rehearsal, it’s a pretty good indication that this marriage is starting on solid ground.

I love a dog in a wedding party. But let me tell you that in all my years, I’ve never had a dog es**rt his momma down the aisle before.

And not only that, but this lucky boy gained an official dad when the bride surprised the groom with a new dog tag to represent this. 🥺

It’s always an honor to be part of a blended family coming together, and this one was one for the memory bank for sure!

We couldn’t love it more when the littles are included in sealing the deal!

During this ceremony, their little one needed some attention so they paused for a moment, mom picked up the baby, and they carried on. They took turns holding their daughter while exchanging vows and rings. 🥰

They’ve already figured out to work together as a team, their ceremony was just a celebration of all they’ve accomplished and of what’s yet to come!

A downpour attempted to take over this day, but the sun came back even stronger.

Jordan and Colin spent the 12 minutes of their ceremony staring into each other’s eyes, smiling bigger than the sun, and nodding along when the words really hit home with them.

Two people who are best friends promising to continue choosing each other every day, even when the clouds appear, was better than the rainbow after the storm.

Hey my fellow light eyed people, I have a wedding day photography tip for you!

When you’re having your picture taken and the sun is burning your eyes, close your eyes tight and have your photographer count to 3.

On 3, open and let the photographer do their thing. 📸

Pictured proof that this works, ignore the redness. Until the nature dies for the year this is as good as it’s gonna get. 🤪

✨Let me tell you about Amanda K✨

About 3 years ago a woman came to a fitness class I was teaching. Over time we have formed a true friendship, which as an adult in your 40’s isn’t always easy to do, especially as a mom and grandma with a business that requires most weekends.

Fast forward to Amanda asking me to help her plan an intimate celebration for the release of her first book, “Comma Day”, about her first 1,000 days of sobriety.

With a vision of a small, intimate celebration for 10 people and a modest budget, I found a venue overlooking Lake Michigan, with arguable the best view in all of Sheboygan, and just big enough for us. We provided the decor and the snacks, and Mel at Through The Looking Glass Tea Shop provided the mocktail bar.

Not only did I have the honor of helping, I was able to be a guest and celebrate Amanda’s courage, dedication, and success.

I’m sharing this with you not only to show you what a value-focused budget, an open mind, and trust can accomplish for even the smallest of events, but to help celebrate Amanda’s book launch and share this resource with anyone who may want it.
