Dumbest Gun Law Award goes to New Jersey, where the government makes you get a fi****ms identification card to buy a BB gun. I’m not joking. New Jersey actually classifies ordinary BB guns and pellet guns that meet its legal definition as fi****ms. That means you generally need a Fi****ms Purchaser Identification Card just to walk into a store and buy a BB gun. The same kind of gun millions of Americans grew up shooting at soda cans in their backyards requires government approval in New Jersey.

You want to buy a BB gun to teach your kid how to shoot, and the government tells you that you need a fi****ms identification card first. These are the same politicians who claim they’re making everyone safer with more gun restrictions. Apparently, even a BB gun is too much freedom for New Jersey.
