Caspersen Beach is one of the top stops, with a long natural shoreline famous for prehistoric shark teeth. Visit Sarasota County Farther south, Manasota Key Beach mixes fossil hunting with dunes and mangroves. Middle Beach, also known as Blind Pass Beach, has nearly 3,000 feet of Gulf shoreline. Visit Sarasota County Englewood Beach offers another easy place to walk the waterline and search the sand. Finish at Stump Pass Beach, where the more natural shoreline has driftwood, shells, wildlife, and beautiful Gulf views. Fossil shark teeth can legally be collected in Florida without the fossil permit required for many other vertebrate fossils.
