Cape Gardens Wcm is the spot to visit for native plants! We purchased a few native plants this spring for Sole Cottage and it was so incredibly rewarding to see the garden swarming with pollinators during our recent visit. Not only our native plants best for pollinators, but they also are much more resistant to the more challenging weather conditions down near the bay.

We often have guests who leave art for us - which is amazing - but this was the first poem someone left us, written by our guest Pearl. Look how beautiful! My biggest goal when we created Sole Cottage was for it to be much more than just a rental, for it to be a space that fosters a deep sense of creativity and connection in those who stay. We are so lucky that the dream in my heart is now a reality.

A moment to appreciate, reflect, remember, celebrate. Just a short walk down the street from Sole Cottage are the most amazing sunsets. These pictures were shared from a recent guest, who said the sunset was so powerful this day it made her cry.

Meet the locals! Our beach is a prime spot in the world for horseshoe crabs; they come ashore each May into June to spawn, and invariably the beach is scattered with the ones who didn’t make it. On a recent walk I stumbled on these awesome earthy art installations!

“Thank you for this opportunity to create and connect with myself.” We just finished hosting our first artist retreat with .photoart and the stay gave her time to experiment, play and reflect. We have several other artists staying this month and next, and we are thrilled to offer a space where creativity can come alive.

Artists of any kind - hobby, professional, entrepreneurial, painters, ceramicists, bakers, woodworkers, etc - we want to open our home to you this winter. We’ve been sitting on this dream for a while and it’s time to gift it out into the world. We know just how hard it can be to stay creative and energized, particularly when balancing your art with life and other obligations. We also know our cottage and our beach is magic. So we offer you this: stay up to 4 days this January or February for just the cost of the cleaning - $200. The only stipulation? You must be an artist of some kind and you must stay solo or as a small group of artists. No families, no couple time, just retreat time. Message for more info and please share with those you feel could benefit from this.
