This weekend, we gave new meaning to the term "grazing table."

What started as a spread quickly became a destination—layers of local cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruits, house-made bites, and plenty of reasons to go back for "just one more thing."

Safe to say no one left hungry.

When the Vermont Cheese Council asks you to host a dinner, you say yes. It was so much fun to create a meal with some of the best Vermont Cheese Makers. Thank you to our neighbors von Trapp Farmstead Cheese for the Mt Alice which allowed us to do one of our favorite things, cooking on a firepit with some tomato confit, bacon and herbs. And a special shout out to Fern River Farm for their fromage blanc which we used to make a strawberry shortcake. We can't wait to try the maple version next!!!!

Father's Day is coming, and we're putting Dad where he belongs... behind the grill. 🔥🥩

Rain or shine, I'll be making my usual trip to the Waitsfield Farmers Market this morning to see what catches my eye for tonight's Farmer's Market Pasta.

That's the fun of the dish—there's no script. Whatever looks freshest, most beautiful, and most delicious from our local growers becomes tonight's special.

And if a rainy Vermont day has you craving something a little more comforting, we'll also have warm mushroom bisque and Seanbalaya—our hearty mix of chicken, shrimp, and andouille sausage served over rice-ready to go

Dinner season is back at 1824 House.

We’re opening for dinner service on Friday, May 22, and we’ll be open Friday and Saturday night to kick things off.

Then on Sunday, May 24, join us for Benedicts in the Barn — our favorite kind of slow Sunday morning.

And starting Wednesday, May 27, we officially move to four nights a week for dinner:
