When is the last time you replaced the batteries in your smoke detectors? Stop into the Wakefield Volunteer Fire Department on Halloween for new ones!
Don't forget to fly into The Gray Owl Outdoors in your costumes!!

It's that time of year again. We are asking everyone to check your smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers. We know this is an important task and sometimes gets forgot about. To encourage everyone we will be staffing our fire hall this Saturday from 9:00 to 2:00 giving out batteries and smoke detectors. We don't care if you stop by in your costume as long as it's not too scary. Thank you to everyone for taking this seriously and helping build a safer community.

Halloween is almost here!! Share costumes with us before or after your Halloween adventures!! Stop into the store and be prepared for a spooky weekend to G.O. Outdoors.
Little goals and goblins will have a surprise... a trick, maybe a treat will appear before their eyes. Parent's come dressed up too! Only those dressed to impress get to see what we have for you!

🎃🍬 COMMUNITY TRICK-OR-TREATING! 🍬🎃

We’re getting ready for some Halloween fun and are excited to welcome our community for Trick-or-Treating at Gogebic Medical Care Facility on Friday October 30 from 3:30-6:30PM! 👻

To help make this event extra sweet, we are asking for candy donations! If you’d like to help, please consider donating individually wrapped candy to GMCF.

Every bag of candy helps us fill our buckets and bring plenty of smiles to all of our little trick-or-treaters! 🍫🍭

Thank you for helping us make Halloween a fun and memorable event for our Residents and the community! 🎃👻

Candy donations can be dropped off at Gogebic Medical Care Facility in either the lobby in our candy monsters, the Front Office, or with Activities! Thank you!

Today before opening, we set out on early morning waterfall adventure! A short hike up the hill is usually accompanied by a low frequency hum that grows louder as you ascend. Today it was different... eerily quiet.
The drop in water levels became apparent with the trees bare.
Rocks, usually covered by flowing water, lay visible exposing the polished, water smoothed stone. Currently EXTREME DROUGHT is a very real thing in the U.P.!! Please, everyone be mindful of water usage and conserve where ever you can.

The temperature this month is an average of 20º warmer than normal. The leafless trees combined with the warm weather might leave us questioning what season it really is.
