The world is just a little less happy today. On Friday, Mom left us and went to be with her sisters and parents.

Sandy graduated from Abilene High School in 1962. On October 10, 1964, Sandy was united in marriage to Ronald Larson, with whom she shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. On August 5, 1976 their son Brandon James was born and her dream of becoming a mother became reality. Sandy always loved attending B.J.’s sporting events and cheering him on. Their life together as a family was filled with love, joy, and countless cherished memories.

Ron and Sandy operated Larson Grocery in Industry, KS and owned and operated Wakefield Grocery in Wakefield, KS. Sandy also worked as a Teller at the Farmers & Merchants State Bank in Wakefield, KS for 30+ years before her retirement in 2017. In their retirement years they built, owned and operated Sportsman Inn, now known as Ron’s Wakefield Inn.

In addition to her work, family, and community contributions, Sandy had a passion for travelling, tacos & margaritas, and slot machines. Sandy and Ron were frequent road trippers to all places across the Midwest and Southwest (her favorite) visiting and making friends.
