Caretaker Position for Fox Valley Lake Recreation Park
Fox Valley Recreation Park is seeking a couple or individual, with their own RV, for onsite park managers/caretakers starting in March 1, 2026 or earlier. The caretaker(s) will spend most of their time outdoors performing a variety of visitor services, including but not limited to general supervision of park visitation, collection of fees, monitoring public events, routine patrolling, preparing the park for opening day as well as the final day of the season, and all the days in between. Ideal candidates are a physically fit couple or individual capable of all types of building maintenance and seasonal yard maintenance. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays and be self-motivated. This job does not include any fringe benefits.
Duties included but are not limited to:
• Day time and after-hours security of park
• Routine scheduled maintenance of park, restrooms, storage areas, garbage area, playground facility and minor road maintenance
• Routine grass cutting and general care of park grounds; at least once per week or as otherwise directed by the Board
• Collection of fishing fees and monitoring the lake and visitor traffic
• Assists all guests during the “check in/out" process
• Welcomes visitors and answers questions
• Cash handling and recordkeeping experience required
• Keep the announcement board located on the side of the store building current and up to date. Also, social media postings.
• Ensuring that all campers receive, and sign, updated park rules each camping season.
• Attend board meetings, provide a written monthly report and update to the board of directors.
Qualifications:
Must be mechanically inclined, knowledge of operating and maintaining equipment. In good physical health, computer literate and have exceptional customer service skills
Experience in working environment related to property management, or maintenance of property.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook preferred but not necessary.
Knowledge of lawn and garden maintenance.
General knowledge of electrical and plumbing maintenance.
Ability to communicate clearly, courteously, patiently, tactfully and consistently with a diverse group of people.
Ability to organize and prioritize work and pay close attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to identify issues, analyze and determine alternative solutions.
Compensation:
Free 200 AMP full-service RV site (includes Water, Electric, Septic, phone and internet) Site # 61
Wage for remaining Salary will be determined on skill set and experience.
