Good catch, Shawn!

Photo taken mere feet from our boat launch.

If you're still fishing for Salmon in the Sacramento River, you're probably wasting your time.

The Bureau of Reclamation closed the Delta Cross Channel at about 10 a.m. Oct. 5 to protect salmon migration into the Moklumne. We do not know when they will reopen.

We encourage fishermen to call the Reclamation District for some much needed transparency here.

While Salmon season has already officially begun, Chinook Salmon are known to start getting active later in the season: September through December.

Don't miss out on the first full salmon season in the delta in years. Come visit us, launch, catch some fish and - most importantly - cool off and have fun! New Hope offers a niche selection of artificial and in-house cured frozen bait (smelt) conveniently priced during business hours.

(New Hope is in zone 2).

7:15 AM - 3:45 PM.
