Meet the NOVA Open Team: Kyron

Today, we're introducing Kyron Haines , a member of the NOVA Open Board of Directors and our Art Director.

Kyron has been part of the NOVA Open family for over 15 years and has spent more than 20 years in the tabletop gaming and miniature painting hobby.

An Army veteran, former firefighter, and computer engineer, Kyron brings a unique mix of leadership, creativity, and passion to NOVA Open.

As Art Director, Kyron oversees our art programs, including Capital Palette, our painting seminars, and efforts to bring some of the best artists and instructors from around the world to NOVA Open.

When he's not working behind the scenes at NOVA, you'll probably find him painting miniatures, building his massive Warhammer armies, or working toward his goal of collecting the world's largest Imperial Guard army!

Kyron is passionate about growing the NOVA Open community, supporting artists, and making each year's convention bigger and better than the last.

Be sure to say howdy when you see him at NOVA Open 2027!

What does NOVA Open mean to you?

For some, it is a chance to compete against the best. For others, it is an opportunity to learn something new, show off their hard work, or spend a weekend surrounded by people who share their passion for tabletop gaming.

But for so many of us, NOVA Open is more than just a convention. It is a community. It is the friendships we have built, the memories we have made, and the traditions that keep us coming back year after year.

Whether you have been attending for over a decade or 2026 was your very first NOVA Open, everyone has their own story.

We want to hear yours! What does NOVA Open mean to you? Share your favorite memories, experiences, and what keeps you coming back in the comments!

A huge thank you to our friends at and for joining us at NOVA Open 2026!

TableWar helped supply gaming mats for our event, making sure our players had great battlefields to fight on throughout the convention.

But what makes TableWar truly special is their commitment to giving back. Through their charity efforts, they help raise money for autism related causes and support families in need. It's amazing to see a company in our tabletop community using its passion for gaming to make a real difference in people's lives.

We are proud to have friends and partners like TableWar who not only support NOVA Open but also work to make a positive impact beyond the gaming table.

Thank you, TableWar, for everything you do! We look forward to seeing you again next year!

A huge thank you to for bringing BattleTech to NOVA Open 2026!

From commanding mighty BattleMechs on the battlefield to bringing players together for some incredible games, BattleTech was out in force at NOVA Open this year!

We loved seeing both veteran MechWarriors and new recruits enjoying everything BattleTech had to offer. The passion, excitement, and energy from the community helped make this year's event something special.

A massive thank you to Catalyst Game Labs, the event organizers, volunteers, and everyone who came out to roll dice, command their lances, and wage war across the Inner Sphere!
