Who knew the island has its own maritime museum? 🖐🏻 This little gem is located over in Jackson Harbor by the public dock. Grab lunch at Jackson Harbor Soup, and afterwards, walk over to the museum. Make sure to check out the Fisherman’s House as well. Docents are on staff to answer your questions. Donations appreciated. 😊

If your dates are flexible, we do have weekday availability. Wed/Thurs stays are a great weekend alternative, with all the restaurants being open as well.

Off island field trip this past week. We always try to mix in a little fun with our errands. A “must stop” place is always the Liberty Grove Historical Society Museum on Hwy 42 in Ellison Bay. Great place to stop and stretch your legs, or casually wander the grounds if you’re early for the ferry. Beautifully maintained property. Guided tours of the buildings are available Thursdays and Saturdays 10-2pm through Oct 10th. If these times don’t fit your schedule, take yourself on a self-guided tour.
