‼️Attention Summer Guests with stays between June 21-Aug 21. ‼️

⚠️Important Road Closure Notice: If you are traveling from Park Rapids north to Hoot Owl on Hwy 71, please be advised that a road closure will be in effect just south of the former location of Evergreen Park.

We have provided a rudimentary map to inform you of an alternate route that avoids Emmaville and Lake George.

📍To navigate around the closure, follow these directions: when heading north on Hwy 71, past Utke’s Furniture, take CR 32 until it intersects with 580th Ave/Becker Co/Hubbard Co Line Rd. This route will then T-in with Co Hwy 44, which passes through Two Inlets. From there, you can proceed west on Co Hwy 44 towards Hoot Owl or east and reconnect with Hwy 71 to complete your journey.

Comfort food has arrived at Hoot Owl 🍝

We’re leaning into the cooler temps with a new Italian-inspired menu this weekend featuring:

🍝 Chicken Parmesan over spiral noodles with our homemade red sauce
🧀 NEW Mac & Cheese Appetizer
🥣 Build-Your-Own Mac Bowl
(hand-breaded chicken or BBQ pulled pork)
🍤 Build-Your-Own Alfredo Bowl
(chicken, shrimp, or steak bites)

We’ve made a few temporary changes to make room for these cozy, crave-worthy favorites—so a couple classics (like our Philly Cheesesteak and Surf & Turf Burger) are taking a short break for the weekend.

Still on the menu are our amazing burgers, hand-breaded chicken tenders, and the Shrimp Po-boy!

Hunting and Fishing license info for any of our guests!

Minnesota DNR's new electronic licensing system launches June 9! 📆

The DNR is rolling out a modern licensing system replacement that is built for today's customers and technology. Phase one of the launch in June will include the hunting and fishing modules. 🤳

The new system offers more flexibility than ever — three ways to buy a license (mobile app, online, or in-person from a license agent) and three ways to carry it (paper, PDF, or stored in the app). 📱

As part of this transition, hunting and fishing licenses will be temporarily unavailable for purchase between June 2 - 8 as we switch over to the new system. During that time, people may fish without a license in Minnesota. All regulations for the season and bag limits will remain in effect. On June 9, fishing licenses will again be required and you will be able to purchase them through the new system. 🎣

Turkey hunters need to register their harvest before end of day (11:59 pm) June 1. They will be unable to register their harvest during the transition/cutover period. 🦃

For now, nothing changes for those needing to register or title recreational vehicles and watercraft. That module of the new system will launch at a later date. 🚤
