--Maximum Heat Index Values: Early Next Week--
The warmest conditions that we have seen so far this summer are expected to be in full swing as we head into early next week (the week of the 29th). High temperatures ranging from the mid-80s to mid-90s are expected statewide, with heat indices soaring well into the 90s for many of us. Heat indices in excess of 100 degrees across southern portions of the Badger State are likely. The warmest day as of now does look to be on Monday, though the entire week as a whole will be warm and humid. High dew point values in the 70s will be a contributing factor, so it will be VERY HUMID. This is the kind of weather that corn thrives in!
Pictured is a map of the maximum heat index values for early next week. Up to 90-degree heat indices are expected for those in yellow, 95-degrees for those in orange, 100-degrees for those in red, and 105-degrees for those in pink. Remember, these are UP TO values, meaning it may not necessarily get to this hot of a feels-like temperature for the entire region shaded; however, this is rather the maximum heat index value that could occur.
I will have more updates on the heat as we get closer. Be sure to drink plenty of water, and take frequent breaks indoors. This is the kind of heat that will be nothing to joke around with. With this will also come chances for storms. We will be in a favorable pattern for strong to severe activity. I will have personal maps posted for each individual risk day. Stay tuned!!
