The Rice Mill Lofts, a historic property located along the Mississippi River in the bohemian Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans.

Key Facts About the BuildingOriginal Function: Built in 1892, the 108,000-square-foot industrial structure originally served as the largest rice mill in North America.

Modern Transformation: After sitting vacant for decades, developer Sean Cummings bought the property and collaborated with architecture firm studioWTA to repurpose the warehouse into 69 residential loft apartments, studios, and townhouses.

The Famous Slogan: The large graffiti text painted across the brick facade reads "YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL," a striking public mural that overlooks the riverfront and adjacent Crescent Park.

Art and Interiors: Rather than erasing the building's history, the redevelopment preserved much of the interior graffiti, industrial machinery, and raw brick textures left from its abandoned years.
