Sometimes our guests capture Creekwood better than we ever could.

One of our guests took this photo along Jonathan Creek, and it feels like the perfect way to begin November.

Morning light through the trees. Steam rising off the water. Fallen leaves along the bank. And the creek doing what it always does — making you want to stay a little longer.

Late fall in the mountains has a beauty all its own.

These photos were taken around our area this week, and the color is still hanging on — with some of the best late-season color now showing up across the lower elevations and valleys.

Fall has been running a little later than usual in Western North Carolina this year, which means there’s still time to come enjoy it.

Spend a few days at Creekwood, explore Waynesville, Maggie Valley and the surrounding mountains, then come back and settle in along Jonathan Creek.

If you thought you waited too long for a fall getaway, you may have timed it just right.

One of the best things about staying at Creekwood is how close you are to so much.

Downtown Waynesville is just a short drive away — full of local shops, good food, mountain views, and plenty of places to wander for a few hours.

Then when you’re done exploring, head back to Creekwood, pull up a chair beside Jonathan Creek, and enjoy the rest of the day.

That’s a pretty good combination.

For a few days, this gets to be home.

Your RV under the trees.

A picnic table outside.

Jonathan Creek just a few steps away.

Coffee in the morning. A fire in the evening. Maybe a drive into Maggie Valley or

Waynesville somewhere in between.

That’s one of the things we love about camping.

You don’t need much.

Just a good spot, a little time, and somewhere that feels good to come back to at the end of the day.

Not the crowded overlooks.

A quiet stretch of water with nowhere you need to be.

October gets a lot of attention in the Smoky Mountains, but sometimes the best part is simply finding a spot like this and staying awhile.

Some guests are here for the first time.

Some have been coming to Creekwood for years.

Some spent the day exploring the Smoky Mountains.

Others barely left the campground.

Different rigs. Different trips. Different stories.

But for a few days, everybody gets to call the same little place in the mountains home.
