City of Welch, WV: Flood Relief Resources and Updates
Attention Residents:
Here is a list of crucial resources available to those affected by the recent flooding:
Water Distribution:
Children's Home Society will have water in Northfork around 1:30 or 2 pm today.
Town fire departments will distribute water—check with local firefighters.
Water is being delivered to Panther Fire Station and Raysal Fire Department.
Water Dept. will have water soon.
Five Loaves & Two Fishes Food Bank, Inc. has water available.
Raysal/Bradshaw Refuge Center will have water for distribution.
Route Updates:
RT 52 is open from Welch to Mercer County.
Hobart Street is CLOSED—only open to essential workers.
You can get over the Coney Island underpass.
Warming Stations and Showers:
South Side School is a warming station with available showers.
Iaeger Elementary is open as a warming center.
Community Support:
The County Commission is working on getting supplies to Anawalt/Pageton.
Town of Bradshaw will take supplies and distribute them until 4 PM today.
Latin Appalachian is providing soup/supplies. Donations gratefully accepted.
3G Maybeury Mart is delivering lunches in a red Chevy Truck. If possible, please donate to them. Cash app: $KathyC3G.
A few current & former MV Baseball players lost everything. Donations of men’s size small shirts/hoodies, smaller jeans/sweat pants, & size 8 or 9 shoes are needed. Contact Joe Riffe to help.
Sparkling Sponge (Sarah Bolden) is offering free cleaning services and support as needed. McDowell & Mercer counties, (304) 800-9362.
Other Important Updates:
The Courthouse will be CLOSED tomorrow.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED. If you can get somewhere, please volunteer!
