10 SPOTS LEFT - LIMITED CAPACITY!
RSVP here: https://tinyurl.com/MazerStrawberryMoon

Please join the Mazer on Monday, June 29th with Dr. Marie Cartier who will lead us in a workshop to honor the full moon and welcome summer.

Dr. Cartier is an ordained priestess in the Temple of Isis/Fellowship of Isis and has identified as a witch since her ‘20s. Full moon ceremonies have a long history/herstory within the feminist community. This is a time when we let go of what no longer serves us and welcome what we desire.

This workshop is limited to 30 participants. Please arrive by 6:30 to get a seat - Event starts promptly at 7pm. No late arrivals.

Save Our History

Le***an history doesn’t save itself.

When we can’t see the past it’s hard to create a future. Every clipping, photograph, video, zine, flyer, and handwritten note we collect needs to be processed and preserved with care so it can be shared with the community.

Your generous gift this Pride Month makes Mazer’s le***an, q***r women, and feminist history accessible for future generations.

We’re so close to unlocking our next $1,000 matching gift! Give today!!!

June 16, 2008 in Pride Month history is when Robin Tyler and her late wife Diane Olson became the first le***an couple to be married in Los Angeles County after their successful lawsuit brought marriage equality to California. The Los Angeles City Council voted the date should be known officially as “Marriage Equality Day.”

Pride is a celebration, but this year, it is also a reminder.
As LGBTQ+ communities face renewed attacks on our rights, lives, and histories, the archive reminds us that we have been here before.
Even in the worst of times, le***ans, feminists, and q***r women successfully fought back against homophobia. We built spaces for care and community when mainstream institutions failed us. We preserved and shared our own stories when no one else would.
Archives do more than preserve the past. They show us how to keep going.
This Pride Month, help the Mazer raise $5,000 to keep le***an, feminist, and q***r women’s history alive.

We’re not going back.

Happy Pride from the Mazer Le***an Archives! Take a look at a few Pride buttons from our Mazer Button Collection:

1. Chicago’s 18th Annual Pride Week button.

2. This is from the Mazer’s vast button collection from Toronto Pride in 1986! The original Pride started as many have, with activism in mind from the very beginning in 1973. Their website says they are Canada’s largest festival and the second largest Pride in the world (https://www.pridetoronto.com/).

3. BOSTON Pride 1985. The first Pride in Boston was in 1971 according to Queerhistoryboston.org

We’re not going back — because history shows us how to keep going.

Pride reminds us that le***an, feminist, and q***r women have faced backlash before. We kept going by marching, gathering, organizing, creating, loving, and caring for one another.

Le***an history survived because people saved it. This Pride Month, help the Mazer keep these stories alive for future generations.
