Scouts are why camp is here! Consider helping out with a donation today!

We finished the day and hit 113% of our goal. $331,797 raised. This is SKC's biggest Day of Giving yet.

That money goes directly to the youth who need it most. Financial assistance for new members, camperships, uniform help, and leadership development.

We're pushing for a stretch goal of $350,000, which provides additional support to 80 more Scouts in our program. Donations are open through March 31.

Today is , celebrating the founding of Scouting in the United States.

Theodore Roosevelt believed the Boy Scouts was an invaluable organization that was helping to raise good citizens. In 1911, he told James E. West, Chief Scout Executive, that he believed scouting was "in its essence a practical scheme through which to impart a proper standard of ethical conduct, proper standards of fair play and consideration for others, and courage and decency."

The Boy Scouts hold Roosevelt in high regard as well. For many years after Roosevelt's death in 1919, a group of Boy Scouts made an annual pilgrimage to his gravesite, led by Scout Commissioner (and personal friend of Roosevelt) Daniel Carter Beard.

Playing some catch up on projects that have been going on at Camp.

The !mpact team was out for their last workday/end of year we**ie roast. If you’ve followed the page at all you know a great asset this group is to camp. They’re out a couple of times a month doing a wide range of projects that help keep camp looking good! We’re very lucky to have them.

The last Alumni workday happened as well. Underpinning was completed on the Miller Health Lodge, a new fire pit was built at the campaster cabin, cracks were sealed up at the pool and some big holes in the dam were patched.

Finally, work began on the archery range relocation. The first step was removing several large trees. There’s still some cleanup work there, but, the good news is there will be plenty of firewood for a while!
