No other words needed.
Please pray for our officers across the country. Our hearts go out to the family of George Floyd, his death was senseless. It didn’t have to happen and we don’t know a single officer that condones the actions of the officers involved. Chauvin has already been arrested and charged, no doubt actions will be taken against the others. Every officer we know has spoken out against these officers, agreeing it was murder. They could have prevented his death, they could have rendered aid. They should have, no one disputes these facts. Mr. Floyd should still be here today.
It’s sad that in these days and times, racism is still going on. It shouldn’t be that way. But the actions of these officers does not represent the majority of our Law Enforcement Officers. Please remember, our Law Enforcement Officers come in all races, white, Black, brown, Hispanic, Asian ... etc. They would lay down their lives to save you and your family. They also have loved ones to go home too. They have wives, husbands, children, grandchild. They have people who love them too. Most of these officers also spend what little free time they have giving back to the communities.
It’s ok to protest, you have that right. If you feel that strongly, go out and protest. Take it to the streets, take it to the Capitol. Let your voices be heard. But these riots, burning your communities, looting the stores and destroying property is not a protest, that’s criminal and you should be arrested. You are destroying the very things your ancestors, family and neighbors have worked hard to achieve. Your actions have destroyed their hard work. You will be putting people out of a job, you are destroying property and lives of people who gave every cent they had to build their business, their livelihood. They had nothing to do with what happened to George Floyd. Maybe that doesn’t mean much to you right now, but it may when the dust settles. If this means so much to you, do it the right way. Let your voices be heard, not your destructive behavior. This is definitely not what Martin Luther King would have wanted.
Praying for our Law Enforcement, our Communities and George Floyd’s family. Pray for peace and healing of our Nation.
