Santa by the Sea is back this Saturday, Dec. 6—and the U.S. Coast Guard Station Grays Harbor is bringing the jolly guy himself to Float 6 at 10:30 AM!

From there, the South Beach Fire Department will guide him to the Westport Maritime Museum, where kids can visit, take photos, and share their wish lists. 🎁📸

From now through April of 2026, the Westport South Beach Historical Society presents a beachcombing challenge: one thousand authentic Japanese glass fishing floats are being released along Westport beaches with the goal of tidal landings so that everyone has a chance to score a find during beachcombing season.

The Pacific razor clam is one of the most sought after shellfish in the state of Washington. Better roads and more leisure time have brought increasing numbers of diggers to the ocean beaches. It is not unusual to have as many as a thousand people per mile during a nice spring weekend day.
