When you own a piece of history as important to the community as ‘The Original Log Cabin of the Northwoods’, it’s never truly “yours”. You are given the task of its temporary steward. We are excited to preserve the heritage that the Alft Family built 150 years ago…..

….Uncovering the original logs from so long ago feels like stepping back in time. Seeing the marks left by the hands that hewed them brings this cabin’s history to life. We’re preserving this gem on the Wolf River so it can continue to welcome generations of travelers for another 150 years”. -Robert & Caitlin McNitt

Wolf River Territory in August. This little piece of land in the heart of Wisconsin is more than just another 'destination'. It's one of those places us Germans call "Sehnsucht".... A deep, almost aching longing for a place, time, or feeling that feels like home, even if you can't fully explain why. There are many places to lodge at in White Lake, you can find them on Wolf River Territory. This vacation will be sure to have you feeling exactly how you have been longing to feel... at home, at peace, comfortable and relaxed. This town has magic all year round, so there is no bad time to visit. With the the first breaths of autumn in the air, our minds begin to shift to the beautiful fall colors that will soon be upon us. Thank you to Mary Jo for posting these beautiful photos to inspire us this morning.

Just a reminder to everyone the meteor showers are here. Best night to watch is August 12th at 10:00 on. Also the 13th should be pretty good, too! Enjoy!

There's nothing better than the Northwoods in Summer.

There’s something special about waking up before everyone else. ☕🔥 The lake is still, the campfire crackles, the coffee is hot, and for a little while, the only thing on your to-do list is enjoying the peace. Those quiet mornings are good for the soul.

Our favorite small town coffee house. A must stop when you’re up in the Northwoods….

Owner Jamee Peters said she did not want to see another church fall into ruin in the Northwoods.
