After a few phone calls requesting to come back, we have decided to reopened for the fall in a smaller capacity while we get started on the treehouse phase. We really do enjoy being able to provide a place to camp for our guests!

We have had a many great guests for tent camping! We are closing down that phase now and making plans for next year’s new facility! Thank you to all who visited and to everyone who supported our beginning phase!

We have built another 1 mile of trails through the woods to walk. 4 miles of hiking/ walking trails now over nearly 100 acres of the Cherokee chief Wauhatchie’s farm land. This property became the Belk cattle farm many years ago. Archeologists have discovered artifacts dating back 10,000 years! This has been a campground for a long time, civil war soldiers camped here. There are r***e pits along the ridges. Come enjoy your time in nature!

While setting up a new campsite at the base of the civil war r***e pits, I noticed a groundhog hole tunneling into them, on the dirt pile was this bottle. A medicinal bottle used in the civil war!

Big Oak Campsite now has a big spacious tent for this season! It’s 10’x20’ with a screened entrance, makes this a great set up for your camp night experience!

We have moved some our preset tents around into different areas. The yurts are all now in wildwood forest under the tree canopy and we have set two star gazing tents on platforms available only during good weather. This has opened up more sites for folks to bring their own tents! Come enjoy hiking our 3 miles of trails through nature and a camp night!
