Our hideaway is nestled on 14 acres of private woods, yet close to Willow Street, Strasburg, and Lancaster.

Classic Amish hardware store. This one is pretty big. But they have no idea where anything is or how much it costs. 😂 That white pipe above the red boxes is not for plumbing, it’s actually how they communicate with each other from the front desk to to back of the store. They just yell in it. Makes me laugh every time. 😂😂

Our guests this weekend used our hideaway to foster their creativity. This one ranks up there as one my favorite. Thanks Ethan!
I also think little lanterns along the trails would be a great addition. Just wish I could get the sun to shine through the shade to provide solar power for them. 🤷‍♀️😁

Just can’t get enough of Spring here. Just close your eyes and imagine the smell of a fresh morning and the sound of birds.
I love bringing a little nature inside when I can. So I the guests arriving today have flowers in the hand towels and ferns on the table. 😊
Today is extra special because it’s Grandparents Day at school so my daughter went all in with her gown from her Maw-Maw. 🥰 (Those azaleas in front of her are just about to pop open!)

😂 This day!
My bleary eyed morning-self frantically tried to come up with a funny prank. I settled in salty toothbrushes for Brant and Anneke. After I finished I headed over to the put finishing touches on the rental before guests arrive today and I wanted to take some pictures that I had in mind. On my way back to the house my phone reminded me that Anneke had an 8AM dentist appointment in an hour. So my relaxing morning turned up a notch. Anneke woke up and I told her about the appointment so then she diligently grabbed her brush. What I intended to laugh about turned into tears as she realized the salty brush and a rush to a dentist appointment for a small cavity. Felt a little like rubbing salt in a wound.
But this girl is the best. She takes me in stride. We made it to the appointment on time and the dentist was late due to an accident on her way to the office. 😂 In true Anneke fashion she had a joke ready for her dentist.

Q: Why is everyone tired on April 1st?

A: They just finished a 31 day march. 😂

I love a lot about our area. It has so much beauty in a close proximity.
Today we took advantage of the beautiful weather we’re having. Ventured about 20 minutes to an underutilized area of the Susquehanna River. Looking at the pictures it seems like we should be far away.
Hope you have a chance to step outside to day and soak up some wonderful rays!

Our view this morning was quite beautiful. I must admit, I really don’t mind snow when it’s so pretty.
It will be gone in a few days though.
