Wild Turkey Inn

Wild Turkey Inn Nestled where nature still whispers and time slows, the Wild Turkey Inn is more than a place to rest — it’s a sanctuary for awakening.

Each room is a sacred teaching, holding the medicine of the elements, the directions, and the wisdom of spirit. A Peaceful Escape for the Heart and Soul
Step into a sanctuary where history and nature intertwine. Wake to birdsong and sunlight filtering through the trees. Wander the grounds, trace the circle of the medicine wheel, or simply breathe beneath a vast night sky filled with stars. Built i

n 1915 and lovingly renewed since 1998, this intimate inn carries the warmth of a lived-in home and the soul of a historic retreat. Each of our seven healing rooms holds its own energy — inspired by the four directions, the five elements, and a blend of modern comfort and timeless wisdom. Two shared spa-style baths add a touch of indulgence, while the home’s ongoing restoration preserves its authentic beauty. Every corner tells a story of wellness, transformation, and care. Stroll the medicine wheel garden for reflection, or enjoy the expansive park just across the street. About 12 miles away, you’ll find local restaurants and a small grocery — though many guests prefer to bring their own snacks or a bottle of wine and simply sink into the quiet. A getaway to relax, unplug, and reset.

Working disaster for so many years has taught me a few things in response in the aftermath of it. First of all you have to understand that it is a trauma response in the body. Lots of stress hormones have been running and it gets things done in the moment. After the fact, when you stop, is when it really hits you, what has happened.

This is when you have to be very gentle with yourself. Allow yourself to dethaw as I would call it. That might include tears, anger or despair. Whatever you are feeling, it is OK to feel it. Please love yourself enough to not judge your reactions or another's. Everyone processes differently. Try to remember love and compassion above all things.

Disaster makes everyone come together, give your neighbor, friend, volunteer, a hug, let them cry and just breathe. They all need the same thing. Listen to them tell the story, that is the way it gets processed.

Everything will be ok with time...xoxo, Cintra

CALM YOUR BODY & MIND BEFORE BED

Several experts believe that a warm cup of tea can help calm your mind, especially at the end of a long day. In fact, the methodical practice of preparing a cup of tea can help relax you as well. We recommend making a ritual of your nightly bedtime tea. Boil your water, let your tea steep, and slowly take in the smell and the feeling of your perfect cup of herbal tea. This alone can help alleviate stress and promote calmness before bed.
Sweet dreams!

Thanks for the wonderful tea 🍵

Thanks to all our new followers! We appreciate you! I will be posting updated photos when I get our outside upgrade finished. This house is a work in progress, weve been working on it since 95. It's been a labor of love and anger, yes, lots of yelling..lol..
