Hi everyone, my name is Investigator Richard Plyler with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina. On July 1, 2025, our community was forever changed when we lost Deputy Devin Mason, who was killed in the line of duty while selflessly protecting others. Devin left behind his fiancée and his infant son, Brooks — a little boy who will grow up knowing his father as a true hero.
To honor Devin’s life, service, and sacrifice, I am hosting the first-ever Deputy Devin Mason Fishing Tournament on April 25, 2026, on Lake Wateree. Every dollar raised will go directly into a trust fund for his son, ensuring Brooks has support, opportunity, and a strong foundation for the future.
I am asking for your help whether through sponsorship, donation, fishing in the tournament, or simply sharing our page to spread the word. Devin gave his life serving the citizens of Darlington County. Now, together, we have the chance to stand for his family, honor his legacy, and help his son have something solid to stand on in life.
