🌍 It’s having a thoughtfully planned itinerary with just the right balance of sightseeing, unique experiences, and time to relax.

And perhaps the biggest luxury of all?

✈️ 3 Travel Planning Mistakes I Wish More People Would Avoid!

After more than 16 years as a travel advisor, I’ve seen just about everything when it comes to vacation planning! And there are a few mistakes I see over and over again that can really impact your travel experience.

Here are three big ones!

🌍 1. Trying to squeeze too much into one trip.

I get it! You want to see EVERYTHING! But visiting five cities in eight days usually means spending more time packing, unpacking, and traveling than actually enjoying the destinations.

Sometimes less really is more. I’d much rather see you spend a few nights in each destination, enjoy a leisurely dinner, explore the local culture, and actually experience the places you’ve traveled so far to see.

🏨 2. Choosing a hotel based on price or pretty pictures alone.

That gorgeous hotel you found online? It might be miles from everything you want to see. Or maybe the beach isn’t swimmable, the rooms are dated, or the resort isn’t the right fit for your travel style.

Location, service, amenities, and overall experience matter! The least expensive option isn’t always the best value.

📅 3. Waiting too long to book.

This is a BIG one!

Popular cruise itineraries, unique hotel rooms, family suites, and sought-after destinations can book up much earlier than you might expect.

And if you have specific dates, a particular room category, or a special occasion to celebrate, planning ahead can make a huge difference in your options.
