Some days this job has a pretty great view. 😎

I took a few minutes at a lakefront home, and honestly it was hard to leave.

A pool that looks out over the water. A deck with room to spread out. Lounge chairs that were made for doing absolutely nothing. 🌊

I love seeing a home like this and thinking about the weekends that will happen here, the swim-and-sunset kind that people talk about for years.

An STR Case Study…

Six months of renovation. A lot of sweat. One very good designer. 💛

Western Cottage opened in January. Here's where it stands after about nine months:

💰 $32,375 in gross revenue so far (before expenses)
🛏️ 190 nights booked across 26 stays
📅 Booked about 63% of the nights since opening
📆 3 monthly stays that made up close to half of the revenue
📈 Roughly 23% of our total investment earned back in gross revenue

What made the difference:

1️⃣ We renovated with the guest in mind, not just the house
2️⃣ A professional designer made it feel like a place people want to be
3️⃣ We managed it carefully, from pricing to guest messages to turnovers

What surprised us: monthly stays carried the slower stretches, and summer was our strongest season.
