Standing aboard a schooner in Maine, looking at this weathered anchor, I was reminded that life’s greatest adventures don’t come from drifting wherever the tide takes us. They come from having the courage to chart our own course while staying grounded in what matters most.

Maine has a way of slowing you down just enough to remember that.

If you’re looking for salty air, working harbors, historic schooners, stunning coastal views, and a place to reconnect with what anchors you, come spend a few days with us at the cottages. The beauty of coastal Maine is waiting. Stay just a scenic drive in our water view cottages nestled in the woods! Links in bio.

Last year, we went on our first puffin excursion, and it exceeded every expectation. We saw puffins up close, and the boat ride was unforgettable.

We loved it so much that we’re already scheduled to go again this year! We chose a small charter that held only six people, which meant we didn’t have to be shoulder to shoulder with a crowd and were able to get much closer to the puffins than you can on a big ferry.

From stunning coastal scenery to seals lounging on rocks near Bar Harbor, every moment felt postcard-perfect. Along the way, we spotted all kinds of wildlife and soaked in some of Maine’s most breathtaking views.

It’s one of those experiences that stays with you long after you’ve returned to shore. 🐧⛵️🌊

I totally recommend adding a puffin cruise to your Maine getaway—and if you’re planning a visit, come stay at our cottages! We still have some great dates available. Links in bio.

It may be hard to believe today, but lobster wasn’t always considered a delicacy. In the 1700s and 1800s, lobster was so abundant along the Maine coast that it was commonly eaten by prisoners, servants, and laborers. In fact, some workers reportedly complained about being served lobster too often!

As transportation improved and fresh seafood could be shipped farther inland, people outside of New England discovered what Mainers had known all along. Demand grew, lobster became more valuable, and what was once considered a humble meal transformed into one of the most sought-after seafood dishes in the world.

Today, lobster shacks like these are a beloved part of Maine’s coastal culture, serving up a tradition that’s been centuries in the making. 🦞🌊

Have you ever eaten at any of these lobster shacks? Come stay with us - grab a to go lobster roll just down the road and sit on your own deck with a beautiful view of the Penobscot River before the good dates run out. Links in bio. maine

The first lupine of the season has made an appearance! 💜 One of my favorite things about Maine is how every season brings something new to discover. The flowers are changing, the days are getting longer, and summer cottage season is right around the corner. If you’ve been planning a getaway, now is the perfect time to reserve your stay. Every once in a while, we like to share a little peek behind the scenes of our lives here in Maine.

While our cottages are what bring people here, we’re also the faces behind them, building a life we love in this beautiful corner of Maine.

One of those adventures arrives tomorrow: two Nigerian Dwarf goat kids. 🐐🐐

The barn is ready, the hay is stocked, and we’re counting down the hours until they arrive.

These little guys are joining our family behind the scenes and won’t be part of our cottage offerings, but we’ll be sharing a few photos as they grow.

Stay tuned for baby goat pictures tomorrow! ❤️
