The land for what would become Shangri-La Campground was purchased in 2014, in the fall of that same year, the clearing of the land started. We wanted to preserve the natural beauty of the land while building the campground. In the fall of 2015, the building for the office and bath house was built and the main roads were put in. In the spring of 2016, phase 1 of the campground was completed. In la

te May of that same year, the campground officially opened with a tent area, over night area, and a small limited section for seasonal campers and hiking trails. It would include a pond with a swim beach, cabins, a new beach volleyball court, children’s play area, a party pavilion with a bar, and seasonal sites 56 thru 63 completed. The goal is to have it all completed by the time the Campground opens for the 2017 camping season or shortly afterwards. Going forward, there are 2 expansions planned to add more seasonal sites and more amenities. We’re starting out small as a new campground, but have big plans. The whole goal of the campground is to provide an enjoyable, relaxing time to spend with family and friends. Whether you are a race fan and just camp here to go to the races next door, if you’re just in town for the weekend, or if you’re staying with us the whole season, we want you to enjoy your time here and have fun. We have some themed weekends planned with activities and we plan on adding activities thru out the season, so make sure you sign up in the office.
