We were honored to host the 26th Annual Taste of St. Croix right here at Carina Bay Resort & Casino last week! 🍷🌴

For over two decades, the Taste of St. Croix has brought together the island's finest chefs, local restaurants, international winemakers, rum distillers and food lovers for one of the most celebrated food and wine events in the entire Caribbean, and this year we had the pleasure of hosting.

It was an evening of incredible food, beautiful people, great wine and pure St. Croix culture from start to finish.

A heartfelt thank you to every chef, guest, vendor and partner who made the 26th Annual edition so unforgettable, and to everyone who came out and celebrated with us on the night! 🥂

Happy World Sea Turtle Day! 🌊 🐢 For over 100 million years sea turtles have been gliding gracefully through the same Caribbean waters our guests swim in every single day.

In honor of today here are some of the things that make these incredible creatures so extraordinary:

🐢 There are 7 species of sea turtles in the world, and 6 of them call the Caribbean home

🌊 Sea turtles have been roaming our oceans for more than 100 million years, long before any of our islands existed

🐠 Hawksbill sea turtles help maintain reef health by feeding on sponges that compete with coral, making them one of the most important residents of Caribbean waters

🌿 Sea turtles also keep seagrass beds healthy, creating vital habitat for countless other marine species

🥚 Female sea turtles return to the exact same beach where they were born to lay their eggs, traveling thousands of miles to get there every single time

🌙 When hatchlings emerge they instinctively move toward the brightest light on the horizon — in nature the reflection of the moon and stars on the water to find the sea, one of nature's most breathtaking moments

😔 It is estimated only 1 in 1,000 hatchlings survives to adulthood, which is exactly why protecting them and their habitat matters so much

😴 Sea turtles can hold their breath for up to 7 hours while resting underwater, unbothered, peaceful and completely at home in the Caribbean

Sea turtles are one of the most extraordinary creatures our guests encounter across all five of our islands, and a powerful reminder of why protecting our reefs and oceans is so important.
