Cat Ba National Park
1, Introduction
Cat Ba National Park was established in 1986, it covers some 17,362.96 ha, of which 10,912.51 ha are terrestrial ecosystems (islands) and 6,450.45 ha are marine ecosystems. The Park is also home to a diverse range of terrestrial and marine life.
2, How to explore Cat Ba National Park as a visitor
There are 4 main things to do in Cat Ba National Park, which are a short trek, a long trek, staying in Viet Hai Village, trek to Navy Viewpoint.
a, The short trek takes 45 mins each way from the entrance gate. That is the way to reach Ngu Lam Peak - where you can enjoy the panoramic of Cat Ba National park
b, The long trek takes 6 - 7 hours each way from the entrance gate. The trek requires high physical stamina due to the up-and-down trail.
c, Staying in Viet Hai village is another great experience to try out. The village is a hidden charm of Cat Ba island
d, Trekking to the Navy viewpoint is another spectacular trail. From there, you can enjoy the view of Ha Long Bay as well as the luxuriously abundant jungle of Cat Ba National Park
3, What to prepare for the Cat Ba National Park trip
+ Cash to buy entrance tickets (80K/ticket), drink
+ Suncream and sunglasses
+ Long-sleeved shirt and long trousers
+ Trekking shoes
+ Water
4, How to get to Cat Ba National Park
You can either get there by taxi from anywhere in Cat Ba or ride a scooter there.
If you drive a scooter, you can park your vehicle by the entrance gate (10K for parking).
