SHARING BY SIMPLE DOING
After two weeks of September, with The Moon Cake Workshop Series Co-hosted by Sate Gastronomy and Saigon Backpackers Hostel attracted over 100 partakers. In these events, we are truly glad to share a story of the traditional Mid-autumn Festival, as well as how to buy the moon cake in the past or making lantern together... We would like to transmit the value of Mid-autumn's days to foreigner from all over the world, we reappear the festival space with a reunion like a family and produce moon cakes with baking method. By enthusiasm, we received over 400 moon cakes from participants. In addition, another philanthropists donated funds to added to children gifts with a lot of little lanterns and candles for sea kids to enjoy and be happy in traditional festival. In conclusion, organizers hope to bring happiness and motivation for youngsters for education in this place.
DON'T FORGET!!! We have weekly Free Cooking workshop to present Vietnamese cuisine to passengers who stay at Saigon Backpackers Hostels.

Vietnam is entering an the most exciting annual festival, the Full Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the fifteen day of the eighth lunar month.
At that night, groups of children parade through the streets, while singing and carrying colorful lanterns of different sizes. Some of the popular shapes include fishes, stars, butterflies and a lantern that spins when a candle is inserted, representing the earth circling the sun.
It is customary to give Banh Trung Thu, boxes of moon cakes, which are traditionally very rich in taste. The cakes are filled with meat, dried fruit, pumpkin’s seed, peanut, lotus seeds, ground beans and orange peels and have a bright salted egg yolk in the center to represent the moon.
Saigon Backpackers Hostel and Sate Gastronomy offer free Mooncake Workshop Series for guest in house. You will have a chance to make any Vietnamese traditional Mooncakes by yourself and enjoy it with local tea. Especially, these mooncakes will bring to poor children in Phu Yen province.

Son Doong cave is World's largest cave, discovered in 2009

Son Doong cave(Vietnamese: Hang Son Doong) is world's largest cave, located in Quang Binh province, Vietnam. It is found by a local man named Ho Khanh in 1991 and was recently discovered in 2009 by British cavers, led by Howard Limbert. The name "Son Doong" cave means "mountain river cave", It was created 2-5 million years ago by river water eroding away the limestone underneath the mountain Where the limestone was weak, the ceiling collapsed creating huge skylights...
This stunning four-minute video of Vietnam's greatest natural wonder – was well worth the hardship, not to mention a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those inside.

Vietnam Reunification Day🇻🇳️🇻🇳️🇻🇳️

Reunification Day Vietnam is one of the most important holidays of Vietnam. The holiday is often celebrated with the International Labor Day (May 1). The Reunification Day is also known as Liberation Day of Vietnam. The day of April 30, 1975 becomes one of great holidays in Vietnam marking the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the end of Vietnam War.

Every year since, Vietnam Reunification Day is celebrated to commemorate the reunification between the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in the North and the Republic of Vietnam in the South into the present-day Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Before this special event is actually organized, the origin and meaning of Reunification Day attract much public attention.

Reunification Day is annually celebrated on April 30 as one of public holidays in Vietnam. All Vietnamese people are off from work to celebrate the important national event. Great music shows are performed with victorious songs. All houses are required to hang Vietnamese flag in front of their door and city streets are lighted up with red banners and flags.
