A mesmerizing throwback to a special evening in February 2026! We had the absolute honor of hosting two wonderful French guests who shared a deep passion for discovering ethnic music. To welcome them, our talented local artisans from Lũy Ải village came over to the homestay for an intimate cultural exchange.
Sitting together on the bamboo mats under our wooden stilt house, the artisans patiently introduced and shared the fascinating stories behind traditional Muong instruments—from the rhythmic beats of the wooden drum (trống gỗ), the soulful strings of the cò ke, to the poetic melodies of the sáo ôi flute. Music truly proved to be a universal language that night, weaving a beautiful bond between different worlds. ❤️

We are currently experiencing some heavy autumn rains across Tan Lac, which will likely continue through tomorrow (Friday, Sep 18). But don't let that dampen your spirits! A beautiful change is coming just in time for the weekend:
Friday, Sep 18: Passing showers and cool air—perfect for relaxing under our traditional stilt house roof or cozying up with a warm cup of local tea. 🍵🌧️
Saturday, Sep 19: The rain will taper off quickly, leaving us with refreshing, cool, and overcast skies. A wonderful day for a peaceful walk around Lũy Ải village! 🚶‍♂️🍃

Our favorite time of the day: the family dinner after the rush! 🌾🍲✨
Once all our wonderful guests are served and happily enjoying their meals, we gather around our own bamboo table. There is no fancy plating here—just whatever is left in the kitchen, served simply and randomly. But what makes it special is the warmth of our family coming together to chat and laugh after a busy day.
Every now and then, our father or one of us will walk over to the guests' tables to offer a warm cup of homemade rice w**e. Other times, guests will happily join our family table for a friendly toast. At Mường Bi Homestay, there are no walls between hosts and guests—just one big, happy village family! ❤️

Look up at the beautiful blue sky and you’ll see our neighbor’s sour starfruit tree (Cây khế chua) bursting with golden, ripe fruits. Many of them have gently fallen onto the rustic tiled roof below, creating such a peaceful and timeless countryside view.
In Vietnam, starfruits are a deeply nostalgic part of childhood and a key ingredient in many traditional home-cooked dishes, like a refreshing sour fish soup. Walking under these green trees is the perfect way to soak in the slow, serene pace of Lũy Ải village! 🏡💚
