L’Œil de Lua

L’Œil de Lua L’Œil de Lua means Lua’s eye - a way of seeing. This page is my personal journal of building a home in Pu Luong.

Not the finished house, not the polished result, but everything in between.

Wooden structure made with ancient woodworking methods. The builders fit wood pieces together by hand. They use no metal nails or screws to hold the frame up.

No machines. No shortcuts. Just human hands, hard work, and patience.

Every piece of wood was carried up, and every part of this traditional stilt house was built by hand.

Built slowly, with natural materials and a lot of hard work, right here in the mountains of Pu Luong.

And this wooden frame? Almost 100 years old.

The stonework is made from natural stones collected from our own land and built by local craftsmen.

It starts here.

Before walls, before roofs, before anything beautiful. Just soil, stones, and a quiet decision to begin.

Building a home in Pù Luông is not about speed.
It’s about learning the land, respecting the mountain, and accepting that everything takes time.

This page is my journey. From digging the foundation to shaping a home, one slow step at a time.
