Coffee culture in Phu Yen is about far more than just caffeine. From aesthetic cafés and family hangouts to late night tra, matcha, and chilling. Tuy Hòa and beyond’s café scene has become a social hub woven into everyday life.

Koi Garden Coffee
📍 Đỗ Như Dạy, Đông Hòa
Take a drive through the countryside to see the local farming community going about their day. Just 15kms from Tuy Hoa is this oasis, a masterpiece that submerges you amongst the mesmerising koi.

Winter House Csfe & Pub
📍 57 Nguyễn Đình Chiểu, Tuy Hòa
Be drawn in by the floating mist and aesthetics of our fave coffee stop in Tuy Hoa. The vibe is what youre here for, Spanish and Mexican accents, blossoming flowers, vintage accents and antique artefacts. Winter Hidden has it all plus good coffee.

Cafe Hiep Yen
📍 266 ĐL Hùng Vương, Tuy Hòa
Possibly the largest cafe we’ve been to in Vietnam. Explore the multiple levels with space for everyone. Thr perfect place for families with activities and space provided for kids too. A coffee shop that truly celebrates Vietnam and its culture. Sit beneath the tropical canopy and relax with a drink while letting life go slowly by.

Songhinh Cafe & Bistro
📍 58 Nguyễn Chí Thanh, Tuy Hòa
Not every café stop needs to be groundbreaking to be enjoyable. SongHinh is one of those easy places to settle into for an hour or two, especially if you manage to score an indoor seat to escape thr Tuy Hoa heat. Tropical courtyard, drifting mist over the pond, cool minimalist interiors and a very good blended coconut coffee.

A bánh mì thats made more for travellers — not locals. And in An Thuong it’s a popular place.

Overview
2 Ladies Kitchen has built a name as one of the most reliable bánh mì spots in Da Nang , but not for the reason you might expect.

This isn’t where locals line up.
This is where travellers, digital nomads and expats settle in.

Location & Atmosphere
Set in the heart of An Thượng, surrounded by hotels and beachside apartments, it sits firmly in Da Nang’s tourist hub.

There are two distinct indoor spaces.
A quieter, more tucked-away area, and a larger open-plan room with plenty of tables.

Outdoor seating adds to that relaxed, casual feel.

It’s the kind of place where laptops come out, coffees get reordered, and hours pass easily.

Menu & Pricing
The bánh mì is made fresh to order — crisp, warm, and generously filled. Portions feel more like a proper meal than a quick snack.

But that comes at a price.

This is one of the more expensive bánh mì spots in Da Nang, and prices have recently jumped from 55k to 70k for the same item.

The standout? The butterfly pea tea.
Light, refreshing, and easily something we’ve already come back for on its own.

Vietnamese coffee is another part of why people stay longer than planned, but we prefer to separate this experience so they can both shine.

People That Love It
This is where it becomes clear who it’s for:
• First-time Vietnam visitors
• Travellers easing into local food
• Expats & DN’s seeking comfort and reliability

They create opportunities within the community by employing non-verbal team members. Ordering is simple, written down, and it just works.

And then there’s the comfort factor.
No worrying about hygiene.
No navigating busy street stalls.
Just an easy, predictable experience.

Things To Know
You’re not getting a raw, local street food experience here, and that’s the point.

This is the gateway version of bánh mì.
Comfortable. Polished. Easy to enjoy.

Our Take
We’d come back for the butterfly pea tea alone.

But when it comes to bánh mì, we think there are cheaper options that are worth the hype.

But if we were new and not so sure about new tastes and street food then this is a safe choice.

Curious where we’d go instead? Send us a DM — we’re always happy to share our favourites.

A secret pocket of Danang tourists haven’t found yet

Overview
This isn’t something you plan for. It’s something you find.

Tucked just off the main streets, we wandered into a network of narrow alleyways and ended up somewhere completely different to the Da Nang most people see.

Doors open, scooters passing through, neighbours chatting, laundry hanging overhead. Everyday life unfolding around you. And then, almost unexpectedly, the walls start to tell their own story.

More than 30 murals appear as you move through the lanes. Stories of the sea, green landscapes, wildlife, and daily life layered into the walls around you. Even the rare monkeys from Son Tra make an appearance.

You don’t follow a path here. You turn corners, wander into dead ends, double back, and take another lane just to see what’s there.

It’s not polished. Not designed for crowds. And that’s exactly why it works.A small pocket of the city that rewards curiosity.

Location & Access
👉 There are 2 entry points where you can start exploring:
📍 75 Nguyễn Văn Linh, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu
📍 259 Phan Châu Trinh, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu

Things To Know Before You Go
• This is a lived in neighbourhood, so try to avoid peak times like school runs and work traffic
• The alleys are very narrow, so be mindful when taking photos and don’t block the way
• Murals are scattered throughout, so take your time and explore every corner
• Allow 15 to 30 minutes, longer if you enjoy wandering & capturing the moments
• Around 500m from the tail end of Dragon Bridge, a 5-10min walk
• There’s a small spot called Bích Họa Cafe tucked inside if you feel like a drink

👉Save this for when you want to see a different side of Da Nang

Not everyone loves it—but it’s worth trying once

Overview
Down a narrow, busy alley in Da Nang sits one of the city’s most well known local eateries. now recognised as Michelin Select in both 2024 and 2025.

It’s the kind of place people hear about, seek out, and debate after visiting.

Location & Atmosphere
📍280/23 Hoàng Diệu, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng

Hidden behind the street it can take a little searching to find it. The setting is loud, packed, and unapologetically local...yet busy with tourists. Tables fill quickly, motorbikes pass nearby, and the whole experience feels a little chaotic yet authentic.

Menu & Experience
The focus here is Central-style bánh xèo that are smaller, thicker, and extra crispy compared to the larger versions.

They come with rice paper, herbs, and salad paper, turning the meal into a hands on, build your own experience.

You’ll also find on their menu other Vietnam specialties including Nem Lui, Bun Thịt Nướng & Bo Nướng La Lot

The real talking point is the signature dipping sauce. Made with pork liver and peanuts, it’s rich, bold, and not for everyone—but it’s what made this place famous.

Why People Love It
It’s not just the food….it’s the full experience.

A place that hasn’t tried to modernise or soften its edges, and instead leans into what it does best.

Things To Know
• Don’t confuse it with “Bánh Xèo Dung” at the alley entrance—keep walking to Bà Dưỡng
• Free motorbike parking available just before the restaurant on the left
• Expect Central-style bánh xèo: smaller, thicker, crispier
• You can request nước mắm if the signature sauce isn’t for you

Final Thought
Even if it’s not your favourite meal in Da Nang, it’s one of those places that’s worth experiencing at least once. If you want to know our fave Bánh Xèo spot that isn't overrun by tourists flick us a DM.

Would you go for the signature sauce, or swap it out?

Rooftop cocktails with THIS view? Yes please.

For a night out in Danang the best place to start is right here!

Perched above the Han River, NYX Sky Lounge & Mixology is one of those places you come for the view… and stay longer than planned.

Sleek, a little fancy, and very much that “night out” energy. Think glowing skyline, Dragon Bridge lit up, views that span across the city & Han River and cocktails that feel like a proper treat.

It’s not your cheap beer stop, but here’s the win 👉 Happy Hour every day from 5–7pm, which makes it a lot easier to justify settling in for sunset.

Perfect for date nights, visitors, or when you just feel like elevating the evening a little.

Save this for your next Da Nang sunset 🍸

We didn’t love it… but we get why people do

Some places are less about the food and more about how they make you feel

Overview:
Walk into Danasol Eatery & Cafe and it feels like it should work. Light pouring in, warm wood, greenery everywhere. This soft, boho tropical café style is becoming a bit of a blueprint for digital nomad living.

Location & Atmosphere:
Beachside part of town in Danang.
📍 117 Đặng Vũ Hỷ, An Hải

Downstairs hums like a relaxed brunch spot, upstairs shifts into a quieter, more focused space. Laptops open, coffees topped up, people settling in for hours rather than rushing off. It’s comfortable, easy, and clearly designed for staying a while.

Menu & Pricing:
The menu leans Western. Think brunch plates, smoothie bowls, good coffee. Prices sit on the higher side for Da Nang, especially compared to local spots.

That said, one thing they do well is flexibility. You can build your own meals, which makes it a solid option if you’re chasing something more protein heavy or specific to your diet.

Our Experience:
For us, it didn’t quite land. Our food came out cold, which took the shine off what should’ve been a simple, enjoyable meal. We’d try again next time we’re craving a western brekkie.

Why People Love It:
It’s easy to see the appeal. You’re not just paying for the food here, you’re paying for the space, the comfort, and that familiar café lifestyle while travelling. And for a lot of Western visitors and remote workers, that’s exactly what they’re looking for.

Things to Know
• Great for working or long, relaxed catch-ups
• You can build your own plates which is perfect for those looking for high protein options
• More about the environment than the food
• Prices reflect the experience, not just the plate

Would you pay more for comfort while travelling or stick with local spots?
