Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a murder/shooting incident in Ho Chi Minh City.

Vaa Vaa (wearing a black shirt, born in 1999; Samoan nationality, the direct perpetrator of the crime) and Tafia Steve (born in 2003; Samoan nationality, accomplice) are involved in the murder that occurred in Ho Chi Minh City on the night of May 21, 2026.
At the scene, it was noted that the victim Lemalu Lorenzo Tovia (born December 19, 2001; Australian nationality) was shot twice and died on the spot; the victim Sauni Sam (born March 5, 1999; Australian nationality) was shot once and seriously injured (currently receiving intensive treatment)
At the Police Investigation Agency, the two suspects initially confessed to all their criminal acts; they committed the crime under the direction of an individual abroad.
Accordingly, on May 14, 2026, the two suspects entered Ho Chi Minh City via Tan Son Nhat International Airport; they studied the daily routines of the two victims.
On the evening of May 21, 2026, they murdered the two victims with three gunshots after the victims and their friends had just finished a party at a restaurant.
Based on the evidence collected, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency issued an emergency detention order against the two Samoan suspects, Vaa Vaa and Tafia Steve, to continue the investigation into the crime of murder.
Simultaneously, an emergency detention order was issued to clarify and strictly handle Nguyen Trong Nghia (24 years old; permanent residence: Hamlet 5, My Quy Commune, Tay Ninh Province; working as a passenger transport service provider on the Ho Chi Minh City - Tay Ninh Province route) and 7 other Vietnamese individuals involved for failing to report the crime and assisting the two perpetrators in their escape.
Currently, the City Police are continuing to investigate and expand the case; strictly and thoroughly handling all related individuals.
